A Church That Does - No Creeds; Just Christ's mission of love
More important than what we believe is what we do. The First Christian Church seeks to answer God's call for justice particularly in the areas of care for the earth, the challenges for women and children, poverty and hunger and immigration. In the spirit of unity, most of our ministries are done in conjunction with other denominations and other faiths. One might wonder if a stagnant faith is faith at all. I'm looking at you James (James 2:17). Join us in putting your faith into action!
Thank you to all who served by giving money and time to the flood relief efforts of the Carey Association.
N.A.M.I - National Alliance of Mental Illness
For years the First Christian Church of Lake Charles has been passionate about raising money for N.A.M.I. The National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. If you have a heart for individuals with mental illnesses and would like to get involved, talk to Paul - I'm certain he'll find a place for you to serve.
National Federation of the Blind Lake Charles
FCC hosts monthly meetings for the NFB Lake Area Chapter as well as offers weekly braille classes.
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
